Clinician: Mustafa Omar

Mustafa Omar is the founder of Muslim Psych Therapy and brings a unique combination of professional expertise and personal experience to his practice. He holds a Bachelor of Science with a major in psychology and has studied neuroscience at the University. He is a certified counsellor, psychotherapist and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) practitioner. Mustafa has also completed advanced training in neuroscience, mindset and life coaching. He is also a registered NDIS behaviour therapist. He is currently studying towards becoming a registered psychologist. 
In addition to his clinical qualifications, Mustafa holds a Master’s degree in Islamic Studies from Charles Sturt University. He has also studied psychology and counselling from an Islamic perspective at international Muslim institutions. This dual foundation allows him to integrate Islamic principles with psychological evidence-based therapeutic practices.
Mustafa’s personal experiences further enrich his practice. He has managed living with a rare chronic pain syndrome comorbid with other associated conditions for over a decade. He also has a speech disorder, experiencing occasional stutter, and suffers from a voice dysphonia disorder. He has lived through and understands the challenges of depression, generalised anxiety disorder, social anxiety, trauma, chronic stress and low self-esteem. 
Drawing on these experiences, he has developed specialised programs including a program on chronic pain management called “Beyond Chronic Pain,” designed to help individuals manage chronic pain and regain control of their lives. He also offers a stuttering program called ‘Stutter to Strength’ to support individuals with gradual speech fluency, overcoming social anxiety, trauma, self-doubt and building self-confidence and resilience. 
Outside of his professional life, he is married and has one child. Mustafa enjoys tennis, swimming, coastal walks, and travelling, all of which reflect his belief in maintaining a balanced and fulfilling life. He is deeply committed to helping his clients unlock their potential, overcome challenges, and achieve a life of purpose and well-being.
