Assalamu Alaikum, I’m Mustafa Omar, the founder of Muslim Psych Therapy.
My passion is helping Muslims improve their emotional wellbeing through professional psychological support that respects both Islamic values and evidence-based therapeutic practice. I believe that healing is most effective when emotional, psychological, and spiritual wellbeing are nurtured together.
My goal is to provide a safe, compassionate, and non-judgemental space where individuals, couples, and families feel heard, understood, and supported throughout their journey.

My professional training combines psychology, counselling, psychotherapy, coaching, and Islamic studies, allowing me to provide a holistic approach to mental health and personal development.

Alongside my psychological training, I also hold a Master’s degree in Islamic Studies from Charles Sturt University and have completed additional studies in Islamic psychology and counselling through international Muslim institutions.
This unique combination allows me to integrate professional psychological care with Islamic principles in a way that is compassionate, practical, and evidence-based.
My Personal Journey
My passion for helping others has also been shaped by my own life experiences.
For more than a decade, I have lived with a rare chronic pain condition, chronic fatigue syndrome, alongside several associated health challenges. I also experience a mild speech disorder or occasional stuttering, and live with a voice dysphonia disorder.
Like many of my clients, I understand what it feels like to struggle with anxiety, depression, chronic stress, trauma, low self-esteem, and the emotional impact of ongoing health conditions.
These experiences have strengthened my empathy and reinforced my belief that healing is possible with the right support, guidance, and practical strategies.
While every person’s experience is unique, having faced these challenges myself allows me to appreciate how complex emotional wellbeing can be.
Over the years, I have developed specialised programs to support individuals facing unique challenges.
These include:
Beyond Chronic Pain – helping individuals manage chronic pain and improve quality of life.
Stutter to Strength – supporting individuals who experience stuttering, social anxiety, self-doubt, trauma, and reduced confidence.
These programs combine evidence-based therapeutic techniques with practical strategies designed to promote long-term emotional wellbeing and resilience.

Beyond Therapy
Outside my professional work, I am a husband and father who values family, balance, and continuous personal growth.
I enjoy playing tennis, swimming, coastal walks, travelling, and spending quality time with my family. These experiences remind me of the importance of maintaining wellbeing in every aspect of life.
